    • Synopsis
    • In a small coastal town, during a cultural festival, Tereza is captivated by the performance of a caiçara circle dance, guided by a mysterious folkloric narrative. The magic of the moment transports the viewer through different eras, revealing the intertwined stories of three young women: Arecê, a Tamoia indigenous woman in love with Jata, an enslaved transmasculine African in 1560, and Marcelina, a caiçara woman torn between tradition and desire in 1950. Through festivals, enigmatic caves, seaside celebrations, and the mythical presence of the dragon, they defy rules, face prejudice, and seek to live their forbidden loves. Blending magical realism, popular culture, and ancestrality, "The Last Tear" is an ode to the fight for freedom, to diverse love, and to the magical strength of women who weep — and transform — history.
