- Synopsis
- This elevated horror film plunges a group of self-obsessed LA influencers into an exclusive spiritual retreat, which turns out to be a deadly trap. The self-declared shaman is the leader of a death cult who plans to sacrifice them to awaken an ancient god. Fusing the social satire of Bodies Bodies Bodies with the folk horror of Midsommar, the film mirrors our destructive virtual lives, exploring female rage and trauma: The story is unfolding through the eyes of an insecure influencer who is failing to live up to the fake standards of our online world, a person every audience member can identify with.
