- Synopsis
- The Prado, a journey into the past, more current than ever. An immersion in the fascinating universe of the Brazilian far-west that rhymes with money, children, doping, and rabid animals. A land without faith or law that echoes Brazil according to Jair Bolsonaro, where you draw your weapon faster than your shadow and where the barriers of morality fall a little more each day. A deeply unequal country in which the president trivializes child labor and where the law of the strongest prevails. The inhabitants of the arid plains of the Nordeste, gnawed by poverty, are the last links in the chain. The invisible, the forgotten. So they cling to their traditions as an outlet, a secret garden that still vibrates.
  
  This story will be told through two characters, Darlinho, the protagonist, at the bottom of the social pyramid, and Fabinho, a secondary character, at the top. In an area where the social lift has remained blocked in the basement, only the horses are left to jump the obstacles. Body and soul devotion for a tiny chance to breakthrough. If he succeeds, Darlinho will shine and lift his family out of misery. If he doesn't, the Prado will have cost him his years of youth and his return to misery may prove brutal. Many of these child jockeys in the Sertão do not recover from failure and sink into the depths of the drug trade. Between short-term issues and life projects, we will follow the adventures of Darlinho, at the crossroads between passion, dreams, and survival. In contrast to the poor and infertile countryside of the Céara, we will delve with Fabinho into the madness of the official horse races that brew millions.
