    • Synopsis
    • Noxturne is a complex cinematic composition that centers on Mia Nox, a concert pianist famous for her renditions of Frédérik Chopin's Nocturnes.

At a crossroads in her life, Mia dreams of the ecstasy she felt during the “the performance that shall not be named,” but she is distracted by and caught up in a tumultuous relationship with an alcoholic jazz guitarist, Roman.

Just as she is about to perform at Carnegie Hall she decides to go horseback riding with Roman, only to end up in a fight with him about his drinking and lack of artistic discipline.

The next morning, alone on her ride, she is bucked off her horse, Zeus, in what seems like a freak accident.

Mia finds herself wheelchair-bound, unable to play her instrument due to spinal shock syndrome and, now, in the care of her somewhat reluctant boyfriend.

What ensues is a story of mystery and suspense set in the claustrophobic City That Never Sleeps where the boundaries of reality and illusion become very unclear.

Our protagonist’s psyche is tested day in and day out by her boyfriend’s lies and infidelities and a competition of sorts forms between lovers. “Miss Nox” has to figure out how to deal with her unscrupulous partner and what to do about the fact that that she can’t even press the piano pedals.

Noxturne is a fairytale-like journey about embracing one’s shadow self and a film that shows healing is never an easy ride...
