- Synopsis
- Maxime Pépel, out of prison after having served seven years, gets himself hired as a gardener at Claude Lebaron -an eccentric bourgeois on the verge of bankruptcy, living alone with his servant on a grand dilapidated estate. Following the confiscation of Lebaron's assets, the two men, now united in friendship, find themselves on the street. Rather than go their separate ways, Lebaron and Maxime decide to take charge of the destinies of "others"...
