    • Synopsis
    • After returning to Hong Kong to have her baby, Sam’s joy turns to trauma when her best friend Rebecca is brutally murdered in a lift shaft—killed by a serial rapist who strangles his victims with his bare hands. Eight months later, the city remains gripped by fear as the killer resurfaces. Now a sleep-deprived new mother, Sam lives in near-isolation, haunted by guilt and anxiety, watching her neighbours from her balcony. She grows suspicious of Lee, a reclusive night-shift worker who blocks out his windows and lives in eerie silence. Drawn into an uneasy friendship by shared loneliness, Sam’s paranoia intensifies as she begins to suspect him—especially after witnessing him dragging a body late at night. But when she reports her fears to Sergeant Yan, he dismisses her as unstable, overwhelmed by motherhood and grief. Desperate for proof, Sam investigates Lee’s past, uncovering his disturbing presence at a fetish party centred on pain and screams. When she photographs him with a suspicious bag, he turns on her—chasing her through their apartment block and attacking her with the same deadly grip. In a final breathless moment, as Lee begins to strangle her, help arrives just in time. A chilling battle of trust, trauma, and truth blurs the line between protector and predator.
