ISTANBUL FILM FESTIVAL
Description
The largest and most established film event in Türkiye, the Festival features the international Golden Tulip Competition, a competitive local showcase--New Visions-- and the international Short Film Competition. The festival's coproduction and networking platform Meetings on the Bridge features Film Development and Work in Progress workshops, and the German-Turkish Coproduction Fund. Istanbul Film Festival celebrated its 44th edition 11-22 April 2025.
Objective
To encourage the development of cinema in Türkiye and promote the commercial distribution of films of quality in the Turkish market; To encourage the realisation of highly qualified art films, to support the development thereof; to make sure that the qualified products of the cinema of Türkiye reach viewers; to provide for these films to be screened for international film professionals.
