BIFF takes place every October in the city of Bergen, Norway. It is the leading film festival in Norway, with more than 57.000 admissions anpresenting over 120 films each year. Half of the program is dedicated to presenting documentaries, making the festival one of the larger presenters of documentaries in the Nordic Region. BIFF also acquires a handful of quality films each year for theatrical distribution in Norway, as well as documentaries for educational and commercial VOD platforms.
